Progress report 1

For the past month and a half now I have engaged in posting educational type content on multiple social media platforms teaching beginners how to model in Cinema4D. Personally I believe I have executed it well and have enjoyed creating and posting the content as it’s a topic I am passionate about. Even though this is a topic that many other social media accounts have done, 3d design is still a very niche topic and educational 3D design is basically a cult following, so with this in mind I knew it would be difficult to gain a huge following, but to counteract this I designed the site to attract both 3D fans and the general public by using 3D knowledge and simple speech and humor. The most interaction I have gained is on twitter which is no surprise to me as most 3D gurus reside there, so I have received likes and a retweet from a similar 3D design account. On Instagram I personally did not add my contacts and friends to the account as my group of friends will most likely spread my work unfairly without actually looking at it so I started from scratch and used most of Instagram features such as stories and following other 3D design account to gain traction from my audience. but currently I have not received any comments and my likes are from my friends that found me some how, Facebook and word press is no different. Even with the slow start I am more than ready to engage with the viewers by repling to them and even taking modeling request. As I move forward I will seek out other 3D design accounts and begin to engage on their post to get recognition and hopefully some traction toward my page.

Progress report 2

Over the week I have continued to receive more followers on my Instagram as that seems to be my most active platform seconded by twitter, and most of these followers are other 3D design accounts. Due to my audience being mostly on Instagram I have engaged in following and liking other designers post to gain recognition and it seems to be working as a few of them have followed me. I continue to make my content consist and appealing as best I could and I am currently looking for others to collaborate with, as my idea for collaboration is to find someone doing their project in the arts and model a piece they did or want to do and post it tagging them in it. I can also do a collaborative piece wear I add 3D elements into their art piece and we both post it and later on, I can release a speed modeling video of it as a behind the scenes. I will continue to engage with my target audience and remain consist with my uploads.

Progress report 3

This week was interesting as it was the week of my first collab. I collaboration with stefan questel and his novel cursebreaker that he is working on, on his blogspot page and instagram. We decided to collab because we are both focusing on creating a world with our mediums, as writing a novel is create a world with words and 3D modeling is creating a digital world, so i wanted to show how you can  bring a story to life using 3D modeling as is done in hollywood. Stefan also does art so he sketched out his ideas that he had for the buildings in his novel and I modeled making a great collaboration of creative ideas and sketches from Stefan and specialized execution from me. So from this collab stefan posted the finished renders of the building and I posted the behind the scenes speed modeling video of the process as well as the side by side finished render and the sketches. Hopefully my audience will see how cool it is to be able to make your ideas into reality. Aside from that I have continued to be active on social media, follow another accounts and talking with others in comment sections and i;m continuing to see an influx of follows to my content. What I will do in the future is ask my audience questions to get some conversations started so I can engage with them.

Progress report 4

For the past couple weeks i have been gaining a large amount of followers on instagram, so i believe my strategy of following other accounts and talking with other people in other comment sections is working. I have not gotten any questions or any comments at all so far but i believe that is because i am not giving them an incentive too, so for my next couple of post I put out a question for the audience to answer and hope they bite, cause it’s clear i have an audience but I’ve been trying too hard to get them to communicate through the content rather than through the actually text or comment section. For my latest post, I will ask a comment to the audience in my comment section.

Progress report 5

I’m still growing steadily, I don’t believe my content has dwindle in quality and i’m happy with it. I have used the strategy I spoke of before, where I post a question the comments for people to answer and start a conversation. So far responses yet, but it hasn’t been very long since i posted them. I tried a different approach yesterday where I decided to model a logo for a company of someone in comment sections choosing and I would pick randomly and upload it to the site. I am hoping this motivates my audience to give it a try and be active in my comment section.

Progress report 6

I have continued to receive retweets and a like here and there, and there is consistent tragic to my word press page. My method of asking questions and taking commissions didn’t necessarily work to get interactive in my comment section, but I believe once my audience numbers pick up those questions would be a great conversation starter. One thing I wish I did more often was put tags in my post, as every single post I made with a hashtag on it has gotten a retweet, but i didn’t pick up on this method. I will continue to make post on my pages, but a method I think would work to gather my audience is to post more like a portfolio page rather than a teaching page, but still have the lessons. Most 3D design pages are like this, as they post nothing but full renders and quirky 3D videos. I will attempted to post more full renders.
